Pacific Southwest Coatings along with PPG Protective and Marine Coatings, and United/Anco Services have been selected as the recipient of The Society for Protective Coatings (SSPC) 2011 E. Crone Knoy Award.
Pacific Southwest Coatings earned the recognition for the specification effort and technical field support providing Amerlock and Amercoat 450H for the Hoover Dam Bypass Bridge, also known as the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.
Pacific Southwest Coatings Director John Woods accepted the award on behalf of Pacific Southwest and its client PPG Protective and Marine Coatings. Pacific Southwest Coatings is the technical sales representation firm in California, Arizona and Nevada for PPG Protective and Marine Coatings.

Pacific Southwest Coatings’ Bill Mulvihill (pictured during inspection) and PPG PMC’s John Mason were acknowledged for their individual support of the coatings project on the Mike O’Callighan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge.
The E. Crone Knoy Award is given annually by SSPC for outstanding achievement in commercial or industrial coatings work that demonstrates innovation, durability or utility. Qualities considered include excellence in craftsmanship or execution of work and use of state-of-the-art techniques or products to creatively solve problems or provide long-term service.
The bridge, which was constructed to improve safety, security and traffic capacity at the Hoover Dam, required specialized construction due to its height, the desert weather, limited access to work areas and the wide variety of surfaces that had to be coated.

Pacific Southwest Coatings is a technical sales representation firm representing performance coatings clients in Arizona, California and Nevada. Clients include PPG Protective and Marine Coatings, Precision Coatings and Burke Industrial Coatings.
